childsupportestimate.com.au is a free, independent calculator that applies the published Australian child support formula — the same 8-step process Services Australia uses — with the current 2026 figures.

What it is

The calculator implements Formula 1 of the Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989, using the self-support amount and Costs of the Children table published in the Department of Social Services Child Support Guide. Figures are updated each January when the new child support period values are released. All calculations run in your browser — nothing you enter is sent to us or stored.

What it isn't

This site is not affiliated with Services Australia or any government agency, and it does not provide legal or financial advice. The calculator produces an estimate under the standard formula only. Real assessments can differ because of multiple child support cases, non-parent carers, income estimates and determinations, child support agreements, and change of assessment decisions.
